Mitre Square

This small square is best known as the site where the body of Catherine Eddowes, a victim of Jack the Ripper, was discovered in September 1888.

Originally an unremarkable looking site of concrete, it has been transformed as part of the Aldgate Project in 2018.

There is now a lovely little garden with seating which is occupied for a work of sculpture as part of the annual Sculpture in the City programme.
